This database is a catalog of human genes and genetic disorders
developed by NCBI, the National Center for Biotechnology Information. The
database contains textual information, pictures, and reference information.
Also contains links to NCBI's Entrez database of MEDLINE articles and
sequence information (Entrez is a retrieval system for searching several
linked databases).
Contains: the Morbid Map, a catalog of genetic diseases and their
cytogenetic map locations arranged alphabetically by disease, which has a
link to the Genome Database. In the Genome Database one will find: region
of the human genome, maps of the human genome and variations within the
human genome. The gene map presents the cytogenetic map location of disease
genes and other expressed genes described in OMIM (Online Mendelian
Inheritance in Man)
