MIAMI, FL - June 18, 2001 (Kagan Public Relations) - Dr. Adrian Cohen, best known for his work behind the scenes on such hit series as CBS' "Survivor" and Studio USA's "Eco Challenge", steps in front of the camera to host the new medical series, "Medquest".

"Medquest" will be one of the first interactive television series to appear in the U.S. Each weekly, half-hour episode will examine a segment of the medical world that borders on the mysterious and the dangerous.

"We created "Medquest" to be an exciting marriage of state-of-the-art production, real life drama and life-saving information, and who better to host it than a man recognized as the most dynamic medical personality on the planet," proclaims series co-creator and producer Christopher Tuffin.

Since 1987, Dr. Cohen has been the Medical Director of the world's premier adventure race, "Eco Challenge", and has lead a team of Australian medical/rescue personnel in countries as diverse as Borneo, Argentina, Morocco, New Zealand and the Australian outback.

  • In 2000, he was appointed Medical Director to CBS Television's smash hit, "Survivor" and provides medical advice and experienced personnel to this top rating reality drama, filmed on location in challenging and exotic locations worldwide.

    From 1987 to 1990, Adrian worked as the Chief Medical Officer with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, flying over 1000 hours and treating hundreds of trauma and medical cases.

    In 1990 he wrote a Guidebook for the Management of Acute Spinal Injuries for medical and rescue personal, as well as lecturing locally and Internationally in the fareas of Emergency Medicine, Accident Management, Spinal Injury, Medical Media and Communications.

    Awarded a prestigious Churchill Fellowship to study Trauma Management in European Emergency Services in 1989, Adrian was also enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force Specialist Reserve.

    From 1990-96, he was actively involved in the Doctors' Television Network (now Good Health TV), an innovative television medium on which he presents preventative health information in the waiting rooms of medical centers while patients wait to see the GP.

    Since 1996, Adrian has been a regular on the FX Channel Breakfast Show, and recently hosted the Lifestyle Channel's "Australian Living" segments. As a result, he has earned a reputation as being the ideal "people friendly Doctor" to many Australians.

    Other media credits include regular weekly Medical stories on Channel Nine's Midday Show, writings for numerous popular magazines, segments on national radio and appearances as the in-house medico for popular Channel Ten programs, "Live It Up" and "Monday to Friday".

    "Medquest" will be available for U.S. broadcast starting November 2001 and should begin airing internationally by spring 2002. The series is being produced by Brown Cow Communications/The Moo Group and Tuffin Entertainment.
